It’s very difficult to disrupt the system and the programs… that’s why I am so grateful for mediums like podcasting that are such democratizing tools.
Nathasha Fernando
In this podcast episode, that will make you question identity, belonging and our process of becoming. I chat with Dr. Nathasha Fernando. Natasha and I have similar academic backgrounds and connected on our mutual interest in non-profit work. In this two-part discussion we talk about her work, finding your passion, finding your people, racism, media culture and how she has come to (re)define identity in a homeland that sometimes didn’t feel like home.
This chat is so relatable as we evolve in this ever-changing world. Listen to this and stay tuned for part 2, and be sure to share it with a friend.
Dr Nathasha Fernando works as a Lecturer in Media and Communication at the University of Westminster, in London (UK) and is Deputy Course Leader of MA Diversity & the Media and MA Social Media and Digital Communication. She is the co-author of Sulla Razza (On Race), a podcast that translates words and concepts on racial issues from the Anglo-American context to the Italian one. Sulla Razza, sponsored by Juventus FC, aims to deconstruct stereotypical imaginaries in Italy and produce new, complex, and diverse counterpublic representations. Each episode of the podcast intends to question situated perspectives and produce counter-narratives.
